How do I prepare for the interview questions?
People have different preferences when it comes to preparation—some prefer to get ready well in advance, while others are fine waiting until the day of the shoot. Ultimately, it's your story, and your comfort is our priority. If having a list of topics beforehand would ease your mind and make you more comfortable, we're more than happy to provide one. Additionally, if there are specific topics important to you that you don't want to overlook, just let us know, and we'll ensure they're included on your list. Personally, I'm a fan of being prepared. I find that it grounds me, allowing me to reflect on the topics and recall relevant stories and experiences, or consider how I'll respond.
What if I'm uncomfortable being on video?
We completely understand! It's completely normal to have concerns, especially if this is your first time being recorded intentionally. Many people have experienced similar feelings, whether it's during a Zoom meeting, a tele-health appointment, or even Face-Timing with a loved one. The camera can feel intimidating at first, but typically, people become more comfortable after a few minutes and even forget they're being taped. Rest assured, we prioritize your comfort and ease throughout the entire process, from your initial phone consultation to the day of the shoot.
How personal will the interview get?
It’s all about YOU – your narrative, your journeys, your experiences. You have full control over what and how much you wish to divulge. While part of our responsibility involves guiding you through questions and maintaining a chronological timeline, the ultimate decision rests entirely with you regarding the topics you wish to discuss and the level of personal depth you're comfortable with
Who will conduct the videotaping and session?
We've got it covered! Sean and I will consistently conduct the interview together, with one of us leading the conversation while the other manages the camera. We genuinely relish meeting new people and delving into their stories. Our aim is to be fully engaged and attentive listeners, fully embracing the narratives you share. Our approach is to remain in the background as much as possible, only stepping in when necessary to gently guide the 'flow' of your story, ensuring we cover all the topics and areas within the time allocated for your session.
